This experience takes place in the Ocoa sector of La Campana National Park, known for its dense population of endangered Chilean palm trees (Jubaea chilensis). Along an easy trail, we take an interpretive walk focused on native flora, local geology, mammal and birdwatching. Species observed may culpeo and chilla foxes, degú or brush-tailed rat (Octodon degus), cururo (Spalacopus cyanus), and the elusive quique (Galictis cuja), long-tailed meadowlarks, turcas, diucas, tencas, woodpeckers, and occasionally condors and birds like the magellanic horned owl (tucúquere), hawks, giant hummingbirds, Chilean pigeons, and various reptiles such as the short-tailed snake and lizards, amphibians like the rulo toad, as well as tarantulas and a wide variety of insects.
